Lexington, KY - On Saturday a small group of Eagles participated in the Kentucky Relays hosted by the University of Kentucky. This is the second year for the Eagles to make the trip and as forecasted the weather was perfect and the competition was tough.
Seth Reynolds started the day off for the Eagles in the long jump (9th; 17' 2.25") and then set a new PR in the 110 Hurdles (3rd; 16.14) which is currently OHD2 #44 in the State rankings. Coach McKinney said, "Seth just keeps getting better and better with every passing day. It will be very interesting to see just how much better his times and jumps get over the next few weeks. He has a ton of potential in this sport!"
Next on the track was the duo of Taylor Broermann and Michelle McKinney in the girls 1 mile run. The field of 25 consisted of 4 Kentucky State Champions and was predicted to be one of the toughest races of the day which is exactly what it was as the top 4 finishers all came in under the National Silver Standard of 5:15.00.
Congratulations to Michelle McKinney for winning the one mile run and setting a New PR, UK Relays Record and School Record of 5:08.68 - Currently the OH #1 in the State rankings.
