Middie "Showdown" Invitational
3/30/2012 Results
Middletown, OH - The men and women's track and field teams completed the weather shortened Middletown Showdown Invite on Friday. Prior to the start of the 200 meter dash a lightining stike resulted in the delay and eventual cancellation of the invite. The right decision was made because as the buses rolled out of the parking lot Mother Nature decided to unleash the heavy rains and severe thunder storms. Fortunately, the athletes were on the bus headed back to Eaton - dry, warm and safe. Top performances were:
Caitlin Highley - won both the discus with a mark of 101' 2" & shot put with a mark of 30' 7.75"
Michelle McKinney - won the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:03.2 & placed second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.2
Taylor Broermann - won the 1600 meter run with a time of 6:02.60
Brooke Rhodus - 3rd place in the shot put with a mark of 28' 3"
On the mens side,
Nathan Clark, Rob Pieper, Zavier Spears & Austin Baker won the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:35.70.
Tim Rae placed 3rd in the high jump with a mark of 5'10".
As a team, the women finished 3rd overall with 74 total points and the men placed 6th with 40 points. Both the men and women will be back in action on Tuesday, April 3rd at the Ross Relays in Ross, Ohio.
