Varsity Teams Compete Well Against Great Competition & Cold Weather!

Results

Troy, OH - 4/12/2013 - Coming off spring break, cold/windy weather, great competition and competing in their third meet in 8 days was a tough task for the eagles on Friday night.  The Troy invitational is always a great early season test for the eagles.  Running, throwing, jumping and vaulting against some of best athletes in the state lets the eagles know what they need to work on to improve.  Competing against traditional state powerhouse teams like Versailles (D3), Chaminade-Julienne (D2), Dayton Marshall (D2), Trotwood Madison (D1) and Troy(D1) are the key to preparing the eagles for the league meet and post season OHSAA tournament.

The Lady eagles finished 9th and were lead by Michelle McKinney (5:16.7) and Taylor Broermann's (5:38.5) one, two finish in the 1600 meter run.  Michelle also placed 3rd in the 200 meter dash (27.60) and then teamed up with Taylor, Kristi Floyd and Page Baker for an 8th place finish in the 4x400 meter relay.  Zanna Spears 5th place finish in the 100 meter hurdles (17:52) and Kayla Ste. Marie's 5th place finish in the 3200 meter run (12:29.48) also added to the lady eagles team point totals.

The men's team finished 11th and were lead by a Alan Savers 2nd place finish in the pole vault (13' 0") and Ben Hendrich's 4th place finish in the 2000 meter steeplechase (7:38.4).

As a whole the eagles are getting better with every meet and the season is young.  Now that spring break is over and everyone is back look for the eagles to turn in some impressive performances in the weeks ahead.

The next meet for the varsity teams will be this Friday at the Twin Valley Invitational - West Alexandria, OH.
