Eagles Perform Well @ TVS Invite

West Alexandria, OH - The Eagles traveled to the annual TVS Invitational on Friday to compete against 15 other schools and the toughest of all competitors - Mother Nature! For the third meet in a row it was cold & windy. However, the athletes put on the extra layers of clothing, laced up the spikes and turned in some very good performances.
For the women, Kristy Floyd had a solid night by winning the 400 meter in 64.72, 3rd in the 200 meter in 28.42, running a leg of the 2nd place finishing 4x200 relay team (1:59.14) and leg of the 4th place finishing 4x400 relay team (4:46.46).
Taylor Broermann ran a new PB of 11:59 in the 3200 Meter to finished 2nd and also was a member of the 4th place finishing 4x400 relay team.
The 4x200 Relay team of Kristi Floyd, Hannah Luther, Liana Dickerson & Zanna Spears finished 2nd in a time of 1:59.14.
Caitlin Highley finished 2nd in the Discus with a throw of 117'-08" and fifth in the shot put with a put of 30'-03.00"
Madi Bowman finished 2nd in the Shot Put with a put of 31'-03.50"
Kayla Ste. Marie finished 4th in the 1600 with a time of 5:57.80.
Overall, the women finished 4th as a team with 73 points.
Aldin Leaker lead the men's team by placing third in the 100 meter in a time of 11.35, 4th in the 200 meter in a time of 23.99, and was a member of the 2 place 4x200 relay and 4x400 relay team.
The 4x200 relay team of Austin Baker, Zavier Spears, Damon Willard and Aldin Leaker finished 2nd in a time of 1:37.56.
Austin Baker finished 5th in the 200 meters in 24.12 and 400 meters in 55.05.
Branson Bennett and Ben Hendrich finished 4th (10:58) and 5th (11:03) in the 3200 meter.
The men's team finished 4th with a total of 52.75 points.
This week the varsity teams will compete in the Talawanda Invite (Oxford, OH) on Tuesday and @ home on Saturday to compete in the Dean Stoltz Invite.
