McKinney Wins the 800 Meter & Sets Two New Records!

Lexington, KY. - On a beautiful, sunny and 59 degree day Michelle won the 800 meters in the "Heart of the Bluegrass" Invite hosted by the University of Kentucky and in the process set two new records.
Her winning time of 2:16.41 broke the 26 year old meet record of 2:18.9 set by Susan Rankin, Danville HS in 1987 and her own EHS outdoor 800 meter record of 2:17.24.
Being a College/High School combo meet was also a new experience for Michelle with the college 800 meter races being held prior to her race. Races which included NCAA All-American Allison Peare of UK which won the women's 800 meters with a time of 2:09.41
Michelle summed up her day by saying, "This was Awesome!"
